Since the first Philippine sudoku challenge was held in 2006, the country has produced world champions. Sudoku champion Sarah Jane Cua, 15, who bagged the Brand’s 2008 Asia Pacific Open in Singapore is still this year’s Philippine Sudoku Grandmaster.
Last year, John Robert Valcos, a student of St. Mary’s College of Baliuag in Bulacan, and Cua were declared champion and first runner-up, respectively, in the 3rd Brand’s Sudoku Thailand International Open 2009 Princess Somsawali Cup held in Bangkok.
Now, the search for the 2010 Sudoku Grand Master (College and Professional Level), Sudoku Wizard (High School level) and Sudoku Whiz Kid (Elementary level) is on!
The regional elimination for this year’s contest will be held starting October 16 at SM Supermalls in Cagayan de Oro, Dasmarinas in Cavite, Sta. Rosa in Laguna, Baguio, Cebu, Pampanga, Iloilo, Lucena, Baliwag, Bacolod, Lipa in Batangas, Rosales in Pangasinan, Tarlac, Davao, Naga and Marikina.
In Davao, regional eliminations will be held at the SM City Davao Event Centre on November 7, 2010. Winners of the regional challenge will then be sent to the National Finals at SM City North EDSA Annex on January 29, 2011 where BIG CASH PRIZES and GIFT ITEMS await the TOP Winners.
