In celebration of the 15th National Autism Week, the Autism Society Philippines- Davao Chapter will be holding the Colors of “A” Spectrum 2 Photo Exhibit at the Event Centre of SM City Davao. Exhibit runs January 16-21 at the Event Centre. It will showcase photos taken by children with autism and by volunteer photographers who participated in the workshop at the Malagos Garden Resorts last November 14, 2010.
The workshop was made possible with the assistance of SM City Davao, SM Committee on Disability Affairs, Malagos Garden Resorts, Canon Philippines, Alsons Properties, Centrex, Anflocor, Sunsmile Landscaping and Independent Living Learning Centre Davao.
After the exhibit opening ceremony on January 16, 10AM, an Angels Walk follows shortly around the SM Davao grounds. The ‘walk’ is one of the highlights during the annual National Autism Consciousness Week celebrated by all ASP Chapters nationwide. It aims to promote awareness on autism and symbolizes the participant’s affirmation of love and concern for persons with autism. Schools, SPED centers, organizations, offices and other groups are encouraged to bring their banners/streamers and to wear green t-shirts/green baller bands and bring green balloons or flaglets.
To cap the opening day, ASP has prepared a program at 4PM, showcasing the unique talents of children and teenagers with autism from different walks of life.
