SM City Davao celebrates Independence Day!

To commemorate Philippine Independence, SM City Davao prepares special treats to celebrate Pinoy individuality.
  

From food, arts, music and dance, SM City Davao will surely arouse the Pinoy bone in everyone!

Agilaya
A salute to Philippine Eagle as the national bird and advocates for its preservation being listed as one of the most endangered species in the world today. The showcase includes an exhibit of artifacts about Philippine Eagle, Wildlife Encounter, Agila Gala with Kuya Kim Atienza and a Wildlife Photography Workshop. Activities will run June 5-13 at the Event Centre.

Panlasang Pinoy
    A Pinoy Food Festival. Filipino cuisine is distinguished by its bold combination of sweet, sour and salty flavors. Filipino palates prefer a sudden influx of flavor. It is often delivered in a single presentation, giving a simultaneous visual feast, aromatic bouquet, and gustatory delight. Feast on the delightful showcase of Filipino delicacies at the SM Davao Foodcourt on Saturday, June 12.
  
Flag Raising Ceremony
    As a company tradition, SM City Davao will hold a parade of 112 colors representing the 112th year of Philippine Independence. A ceremonial flag hoisting follows to be participated in by the mall employees, its tenants and various sectors in the community. The ceremonies will start at 8:30 AM while Philippine flags across all SM Supermalls nationwide will be simultaneously hoisted at 9:00 AM.

Proud Pinoy Concert
    Pinoy Original Rock Music featuring TemaX and Muevo. Homegrown artists expresses Pinoy pride in a concert covering OPM songs by Bamboo, Kitchie Nadal and other Filipino artists. Catch TemaX and Muevo on June 13, 5:00 PM, Sunday at the Event Centre.

Sayaw OPM

    Royeca School of Ballet performs OPM. Dancing is a union of body and soul, a marriage of rhythm and grace, a fusion of art and athleticism... a link of history and what lies ahead. Be entertained as the Royeca School of ballet interprets Original Pinoy Music through contemporary ballet numbers. Show starts at 4:00 PM, June 13, Sunday, Event Centre.
