The immeasurable contribution of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to the country is not lost on SM Supermalls Group, which bench-marked a unique mall feature that would cater to the needs of their families.
Last December 10, 2009, SM has launched its pilot Global Pinoy Center (GPC) at the Mall of Asia. The Global Pinoy Center is a one-stop hub tailored to meet the needs of OFWs, migrants and their families. GPC services include:
• Remittance – Tracking and pickup of remittances with the convenience (services available on weekends and holidays) and security the mall facility offers.
• Shopping –Great value and rewards with the Global Pinoy Perks Booklet, special in freebies and discounts from thousands of stores across SM Supermalls nationwide.
• Global Pinoy Help Desk – Inquiries on banking, insurance and investments, livelihood trainings and seminars and free legal consultation
• Communication – Free video/voice calls and internet access
Any OFW and their families can avail of services and use the facility by registering as a member of the GPC.
The GPC will provide a venue for Global Pinoys and their guests to reconnect with their families abroad through while enjoying convenient shopping and entertainment.
The SM Global Pinoy Program affords its members access to the unique mall facility with additional perks from the program partner establishments.
Prospective OFWs may also benefit from the Global Pinoy Center, as it accommodates several terminals with direct access to government employment agencies like the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Now, through the Global Pinoy Program, SM Supermalls has achieved another milestone by giving the country’s modern-day heroes a facility and a membership card that opens a world of privileges (up to a total of Php 80,000 worth of discounts in health services, hotels, restaurants, various shops and education) and convenience just for them and their families
SM conceived of a Global Pinoy Program to applaud the sacrifice and dedication of OFWs to their families. The SM Global Pinoy Centers stand as a concrete symbol of SM's deep appreciation of the many overseas Filipinos who have been helping in the growth and development of the country.
