SM Little Stars now on its 6th year!

Calling all charming little boys and girls! It’s time to take center stage and embrace the spotlight as the quest for the next SM Little Star begins.

Now on its 6th year, the nationwide talent search will be giving away amazing prizes, scholarship grants and a chance to visit China for the grand winners.

Bright, charming and talented kids aging 4 to 7 years old are invited to join the SM Little Stars Preliminary Screening on July 7, 2012, 11 am at SM City Davao The Annex Event Center.

To join, interested parties may register at www.smsupermalls.com/smlittlestars to get registration numbers. Registration forms are also available at the Mall Admin Office located at the Second Floor of the Main Mall. Duly filled out forms must be submitted along with a copies of the child’s birth certificate (original and photocopy), and 2 copies of 4R size photos (one close-up, one full body) at the Marketing Department of SM City Davao. Registration runs until July 7, Saturday

Lucky contestants who pass the preliminary screening will get an opportunity to undergo trainings and workshops prior to the regional and national finals.

Trisha and Josh, named SM Little Stars for Davao!

Little stars took center stage at the SM Davao Atrium last September 20. From the 12 shining stars (6 girls, 6 boys), two talented kids were crowned as the SM Davao Regional SM Little Stars Winners.

Amiable Trisha Lorraine Dioso, 6 y.o., bagged the title together with the dashing Josh Obenario, 7 y.o. as their stars shine the brightest that Sunday afternoon. Both Trisha and Josh are residents of the Davao City.

Being schooled at Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Trisha) and at the University of Immaculate Conception (Josh), both little stars dream of becoming professionals someday. However, while at their youth, the two also enjoy the limelight, entertaining people.

During the competition, both showed off their moves-- Trisha doing the Arabian belly dance and Josh, performing as Michael Jackson. Both also displayed their wit and charm in a candid interview.

The two will be sent to Manila for the Grand Finals set on October 11 at the Music Hall of the Mall of Asia together with 24 other finalists from all over the country.

More than the competition however, it is the experience of acquiring new skills from workshops and trainings under Mr. Audie Gemora (Stages) and ultimately, the opportunity to meet new friends from all over await them.

The little stars will be judged according to their Star Quality (30%), Personality (30%) and Talent (40%). Further, 30% of the total score will be based on SM Popularity Votes. Shoppers may vote for their favorite stars with a purchase of an SM GreenBag, and dropping duly filled out ballots at the drop boxes near the SM GreenBag booths. Voting is open from September 21 to October 6 only.

12 out of 132 Qualify for SM Little Stars Regional Finals

Last September 5, the SM City Davao Event Centre was packed with 132 cute little kids from all over Davao City who auditioned for the SM Little Stars. From those, 12 young dreamers were chosen to move up to the contest regional finals on September 20, 2009 at the SM Davao Event Centre.

Regional finalists from SM City Davao are Antonio Acharon, Israela Danielle de Guzman, Andee Grezar Gingco, Chariseana Diansay, Andre Gaspe, Jassy Caryle Lim, Ranuel Josh Obenario, Sasha Patrice Baldoza, Lance Francis Geolina, Shamel Zion Kyll Elno, Lawrence Christian Aguba and Trisha Lorraine Dioso.

For the Regional Finals, 30% of the final score will be based on each contestant’s SM Green Bag Vote. To vote, a customer must purchase an SM Green Bag, claim a ballot in exchange for the official receipt as a proof of purchase and cast their votes by dropping their duly filled out ballots at the SM Little Star drop box located at the Green Bag booth. Voting is open from September 13 to September 17 only.
