The search for the Model OFW Family Award is an annual activity spearheaded by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). It is aimed at giving honor and recognition to OFWs and their families who can serve as inspiration to their fellow OFWs. It is also a way of promoting best practices in managing OFW family challenges.
Ultimately, the search aims to uplift the image of OFW families in the community, and highlight the role of OFW family acting as a group/unit in the attainment of socio-civic, educational, professional and material success.
MOFYA nominees must meet the following criteria: a) wholesome family; b) civic/community involvement of OFW and family; c) success in OFW and family’s education and/or profession; and d) success in managing family finances.
All OFW and their families are invited to witness the MOFYA 2010 Awarding Ceremony on September 30, Monday, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the SM Davao Event Centre.
