On January 4, 1996, former President Fidel V. Ramos signed into law Proclamation No. 711 declaring the third week of January as Autism Consciousness Week. This aims to promote awareness on autism and the provision of appropriate social services to persons with autism.
This year’s theme, “Giant Leaps, Transcending Boundaries”, reflects Autism Society Philippines’ (ASP) unprecedented growth for the past years as it renews its commitment to continue expanding programs and services to reach the far flung areas of the country where awareness, information and services are needed.
In celebration of the 14th Autism Consciousness Week (January 18-24), SM City Davao together with the Autism Society of the Philippines, mounts the city’s first Angels’ Walk for Autism on January 23, Saturday, 2PM.
The Angels Walk aims to educate SM mall-goers and the public in general, on the issues that involve autism.
No fees are required. Everyone is invited. Registration starts 1:00 PM at the SM City Davao's Ground Floor, East Gallery.
Take a walk. Be an angel.
