As part of its commitment to promote the welfare of OFWs, Filipino Migrant workers and their families, SM Supermalls’ Global Pinoy Center in partnership OWWA and DTI, will be hosting a two-hour lecture on ‘How to Start a Business’ on March 24, 2011, Thursday, 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the mall’s East Gallery, Ground Floor.
The lecture will discuss tips, issues and processes in starting entrepreneurial endeavours.
Around 200 GPC members, OFWs and their beneficiaries, city cooperatives and graduating students of business courses from Davao City are expected to attend the forum which will be conducted by DTI Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist Ivy M. Uy. The same event will be done simultaneously across 25 SM Supermalls with Global Pinoy Centers.
The Global Pinoy Center is a one-stop shop for OFWs, migrants workers and their families that offers remittances services, communication facilities, shopping and even skills training, investment and legal consultations. This corporate social responsibility initiative of SM Supermalls aims to serve the needs and champion the cause of Pinoys abroad and expatriates, as well as their dependents and beneficiaries living in the country.
An Overseas Filipino Worker who visits any SM GPC can get his own Global Pinoy Card, which entitles him to exclusive rewards and privileges. The card also allows him entry to any SM Global Pinoy Center where he can do transactions at the BDO remittance counter, SM Department Store's Foreign Exchange or Business Counter. A cardholder may also use the center’s Internet facilities, voice or video calls for free. He may also enjoy Php 80,000.00 worth of discounts and privileges and other SM promos. The card is also available for the Global Pinoys families and beneficiaries, which they can use in any of our Global Pinoy Centers across all SM Supermalls nationwide.
