SM City Davao’s Fashion Edge has again surprised and delighted fashion fans in the city last March 12 at the Event Centre. This year’s show, its 4th edition, brought to the city the best of Davao’s Philippine Fashion Week designers and the mall’s top retail brands in a confluence of retail and couture.
The Fashion Edge featured a fresh take to the Davao Fashion scene with a coup of new generation stylists—students from the consortium program of the Philippine Women’s College of Davao and the Fashion Institute of Design and the Arts. The make-up team were graduates of the program and are now enterprising artists under Styleoven.
The endeavour was made more promising by the designer mentors, who have represented Davao at the Philippine Fashion Week since 2004, gracing the runway to show their new creations: Patahian’s triumvirate Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu and Popoy Barba; Luxe Couture Emi Englis and Chardin’s Edgar Buyan.
Twenty-five over a hundred seasoned and budding models were also chosen to strut on runway an array of couture and retail pieces.
Featured retail brands were: Mags, Folded and Hung, Arrow, Espada, Mental, Maldita, Bayo, Shapes, Karimadon, Levi’s, Artwork, Plains and Prints, SM Departmen Store’s Baleno and Mango.
