Last September 12, Lolos and Lolas were treated with special surprises at SM City Davao. The day was marked with the opening of a 3-day Grandparents Bazaar. In the afternoon, shoppers had a trip to memory lane with songs from the yesteryears.
The Camera Club of Davao also joins the celebration with a Post Grandparents Day Photo Exhibition located at the Mall’s Ground Floor which will run until Monday.
Being committed to providing service to the elderly, SM City Davao extends the celebration to September 20, by hosting the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) recognition ceremony for the Lolo and Lola of the year.
The day will start with a fun ballroom dancing session and a relaxing tai chi workshop, 10 AM at the Event Centre. Rai Rai Ken will then teach grandparents the art of Japanese food preparation at 11 AM. And while these fun activities are happening, dear Lolos and Lolas can avail of pampering services for free-- manicure, eye/ear check up, hair cut and back massage.

The OSCA, together with the Davao City Senior Citizens Federation meanwhile prepares a special program for its members in the Lolo and Lola of the Year awarding ceremony in the afternoon. Capping the day is a Conggo dance party fit for the young at heart! Plus, completing the celebration are special prizes up for grabs for lucky grandparents!
