Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at SM Davao!
This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon cake Festival) falls on September 22. The moon cake, a customary gift during the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival made its first debut in Chinese history during the Yuan Dynasty. According to a legend, the moon cakes were instrumental in overthrowing the Mongol Government which paved way to the birth of the Ming Dynasty.
About 1500 years ago, the Moon cake Game was started by scholars craving success in imperial exams. There were a total of 63 prizes, based on various dice combinations. Legend has it that one of Koxinga's (arch commander of the Ming troops) officers adapted the dice game rules to create the Moon cake game in order to preoccupy homesick soldiers.
At SM City Davao, in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Foodcourt customers can play the Moon cake Game from September 18 to 26.
